Hot air ovens are electrical instruments that use precise temperature control to sterilize and process materials. They can be used in many industries, including food, pharmaceutical, and medical, for a variety of purposes:
APPLICATION
- Sterilization: Hot air ovens can destroy microorganisms and bacterial spores using dry heat sterilization. This method is used on materials that won’t melt, catch fire, or change shape when exposed to high temperatures. The oven heats the outside of the item, which then absorbs the heat and moves it to the centre. Hot air ovens can be used to sterilize glassware, metal instruments, reusable plastic containers, powders, and materials that contain oils.
- Drying: Hot air ovens can be used to dry materials quickly.
- Heat treating: Hot air ovens can be used to deliver heat treatment to products.
- Other uses: Hot air ovens can also be used for baking, curing, preserving microbial cultures, assessing heat resistance, and evaluating bacterial spores.
